As Mapping the Movida grows, curious facts continue to come to light. For instance, in La Luna de Madrid‘s events listings, we find ads for concerts and other cultural happennings hosted in hair salons and garment shops in working class municipalities such as Alcorcón, well outside of Madrid’s city center. Who were the artists performing in these spaces? What is the place of these artists in the canon known as La Movida? One of Alcorcón’s most well-known ‘Movida artists’ is Pepa Charro (aka. La Terremoto de Alcorcón), former member of Diabéticas Aceleradas.
