As Mapping the Movida develops, curious facts continue to come to light. For instance, in La Luna de Madrid‘s events listings, we find ads for concerts and other cultural happenings hosted in hair salons and garment shops in working class municipalities like Alcorcón, well outside of Madrid’s city center. What artists performed in these spaces? What is the place of these artists in the canon known as La Movida?
One of Alcorcón’s most well-known ‘Movida artists’ is Pepa Charro (aka. La Terremoto de Alcorcón), former member of Diabéticas Aceleradas.
